When Coco Chanel introduced the little black dress and predicted it will become the uniform for elegant women, little she knew that her innovation will have such a success and become a symbol for any luxury “must-have” in the life of any woman, no matter how poor or rich she is. Since little black dress “birth”, women all over the world could afford to dress elegantly without much financial effort.
Likewise, today traveling all over the world is affordable to almost any person in the world. The expansion of aerospace industry, trains, buses, cars and the like has made traveling cheaper than ….walking. A new pair of leather shoes would cost more than a flight from London to Paris. And if you’re crazy enough to try to walk that distance, you’ll probably need more than one pair of shoes.
No wonder then that you can find traveling among the hobbies of every average girl/woman/man’s CV. And in the virtual world, traveling is a niche that captivates more and more bloggers. Apart from thousands and thousands of travel blogs, if you’d explore any lifestyle blogs you’ll see that their authors include a travel section too. As a matter of fact, you’ll find that section even on some fashion or cooking blogs. Not to mention that the more personal blogs, online diaries and the like, are full of travel posts among other personal subjects.
It’s like a mutual recognition of the fact that traveling is such a normal part of our everyday life that it is entangled with ours everyday basic necessities like food and clothing. Judging on the current trend, I would say that soon traveling will be included in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. :))
