Situated in Central London on Bloomsbury Road pretty close to the British Museum, the Morgan Hotel is a great value for money option if you want to spend few days in London.
Morgan Hotel in London
The building seems to be an old one, with narrow entrance hall and red carpeted stairs looking quintessentially British to my european eyes. Once you’re inside the hotel, looks like you just stepped into an Agatha Christie book. Lots of leaflets on the right wall are waiting to share their information to everyone willing to read it.
The reception room is downstairs and that contributes to the mysterious air of this old-fashioned hotel as well.
I used the site booking.com for a reservation for this hotel and the price (for genius members like me) was 40.50/night with breakfast included. However, when checking the Morgan hotel own website, I notice the price was a little higher for the same room (£45).
The services and facilities
When comes about services and facilities offered at Morgan hotel, you can have everything you wish for: TV, direct dial telephone, free wi-fi (that’s really working even at the second floor), air conditioned, hair dryer, toiletries, fresh towels, kettle and tea and coffee bags and a bottle of water with a glass.
The only thing that put me off – although it did not affect me, since I stayed only one night – was the fact that the linen was to be changed after 7 days. I have stayed in hotels with less stars than Morgan hotel, and the linen was changed 3 times in 5 days.
The room – nice and clean
Not big, not very small, just enough space for one person to move around. The bed was really comfy, plenty of space to roll over, had a really good sleep after a wonderfully tiring day walking around the city. The air conditioning was a great addition to the facilities offered, even in London a summer night can be pretty hot.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choices
Breakfast was included in the price and was served between 7.30-9.30 am. I was offered a menu list with plenty of choices, although not everything was available as I found out as soon as I ordered poached eggs. I took scrambled eggs instead, with bacon, mushrooms and beans. The coffee was served black, no milk, no sugar.
Dragos
Looks like it’s definitively worth a visit!
Gradiva
I can’t wait to see you in London, that would be something 🙂
