Welcome to The Gradiva – She Who Walks, a travel blog that captures the essence of exploring the world through the eyes of a solo female traveler.
My nickname is Gradiva and I am a passionate traveler who loves to explore new places, meet new people, and experience different cultures. I am still on a self-discovery journey, always looking for a quiet and comfortable space on this Earth where I can reflect on my millions of thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I started this blog to share my travel experiences, inspire others to travel, and promote solo female travel.
Why this nickname?
“Gradiva” is a Latin word that means “she who walks” and seems to be a fitting nickname for someone who is always on the move, exploring new places and experiencing new things. It also suggests a sense of purpose and direction, as well as a commitment to personal growth and self-discovery.
The Gradiva – She who walks is a mix of personal anedoctes, hotel reviews, tips, guides, itineraries, practical advise, and insightful reflections on the beauty and complexity of different cultures.
Through The Gradiva – She Who Walks, I can only hope to inspire you to explore the world yourselves and embrace the beauty of diversity, whether you’re a seasoned traveler or a novice explorer. Also, I hope to create a community of like-minded individuals who share the same passion for travel and adventure. My blog features advice on various destinations, including hidden gems, off-the-beaten-path locations, and popular tourist spots.
I believe that traveling solo as a woman can be a liberating and empowering experience. It allows you to step out of your comfort zone, gain new perspectives, and create unforgettable memories. However, I understand that solo travel can also be intimidating, especially for women. That’s why I strive to provide resources and information to help women plan and prepare for their trips, including safety tips, solo travel guides, and recommendations for women-friendly destinations.
I am a firm believer in responsible and sustainable travel, and I aim to promote eco-friendly and ethical tourism practices. I believe that travel should not only benefit the traveler but also the local communities and the environment.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope that The Gradiva – She Who Walks will inspire you to travel more, explore new places, and create your own unique travel experiences.
P.S. When I am not traveling, you can find me reading travel books, trying exotic recipes, watching Columbo 🙂 or planning my next adventure. I strongly believe that travel has the power to transform and inspire us, so …grab your backpack, let’s explore the world together!
